Energy Market Trends over the next 40 years analyzed at the AmCham-Angola
Business Forum
The American Chamber of Commerce in Angola (AmCham-Angola) held on Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Hotel Epic Sana, at 17h30, the third edition of its monthly event called AmCham-Angola Business Forum.
During the event, BP's director of Macroeconomics William Zimmern presented the factors that
could affect global energy markets by 2040. The BP-sponsored event aims to help participants
understand key trends in energy markets as well such as global technological and political
transformations, increasing uncertainty and rapid change.
It was intended during the event to answer, among others, the following questions: What is the
future of the energy mix? What are the supply and consumption trends? Will we be able to
achieve the long-term climate goals under the Paris Agreement, ensuring universal access to
energy?
The event was attended by members of AmCham-Angola and the heads of the main oil
companies in the country, as well as those responsible for other sectors supporting the oil
industry.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Angola (AmCham-Angola) is affiliated to the United
States Chamber of Commerce founded by President William Taft in 1912. Through its affiliation
with the United States Chamber of Commerce - the largest business organization in the world -
