ISPTEC and AmCham-Angola Sign Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen Academic, Scientific and Technological Ties with the United States
Instituto Superior Politécnico de Tecnologias e Ciências (ISPTEC) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Angola (AmCham-Angola) signed a cooperation agreement on 16th July , aimed at strengthening academic, scientific, and technological relations between Angola and the United States, with a particular focus on research, innovation, and human capital development.
The partnership seeks to bring Angolan higher education institutions closer to American universities and research centers, creating new opportunities for collaboration in areas considered strategic to the country's economic and technological development.
The agreement was signed by ISPTEC Rector João Fernando Manuel and AmCham-Angola President Pedro Godinho.
According to Prof. Dr. João Fernando Manuel, the agreement marks "the beginning of a new era of cooperation with America," enabling ISPTEC to strengthen its international presence and promote initiatives in the fields of technology, energy transition, fertilizers, and scientific research.
On behalf of AmCham-Angola, Eng. Pedro Godinho stated that the signing of the agreement represents the achievement of a long-standing objective of the organization. In his view, Angola's sustainable development depends on consistent investment in education, science, and the development of its human capital.
The cooperation is expected to lead to the development of projects in robotics, drone manufacturing, and technologies applied to the oil and gas, mining, and agricultural sectors—areas that have the potential to significantly enhance the country's innovation capacity.
He reaffirmed AmCham-Angola's commitment to promoting programs that enhance the skills of Angola's youth and accelerate the country's scientific and technological development.
